How often does your family get together? If you and your family are traveling to the Deep Creek Lake areas (Oakland, McHenry, Swanton, Deer Park), I'm booking photo sessions for the 2016 summer months. The kids are out of school. Everyone is happy. Why not get those family photos you've been brushing off at the beach or swimming under those fresh waterfalls? Do it.
The westernmost part of Maryland boasts a quiet community on a man-made lake. I've grown up spending many summer and winter vacations there. Deep Creek Lake and the surrounding areas are such a nice retreat. We've gone camping, swimming under waterfalls, boating all day, hiking up mountains and along rivers, skiing, eating bushels of crabs outdoors with friends and extended family, and taking drives in search of mountaintop views or a sky full of stars. The Deer Park Water company actually began bottling their fresh water from the nearby springs years ago.
This family came from all parts of the country for one big family vacation at the lake. Three generations and their pets. Is there a better way to wrap up your time together than with a photo session? As it goes, there are some honest moments trying to wrangle up all of the kids. ;)
Adalynn got to spend the day with her parents at home, while her older sister and brother were in school. She did what babies do at home - play, nurse, roll in carts, cuddle, laugh, and learn to walk.
Isn’t this exactly how it goes sometimes? How many mommas eat their lunch at the counter?
I've worked in a locally-owned lingerie and bra-fitting boutique for years. Meeting and listening to all different types of women has been one of my favorite parts of the job. Many different things are said behind those curtained dressing rooms; tears, jumps-for-joy, half-naked hugs, champagne-induced laughter, and real conversations. It's amazing how many people open up and are willing to tell you about their lives when they are half-dressed. Most women have something about their body that they don't like, and some walk with an extra strut in their step because they know their bra matches their panty (which matches their outfit). Importantly, we talk about our bodies and what's healthy for us.
So, when I started out doing boudoir photos, my primary reason was so women would know they are beautiful, sexy, and deserve to show it off. Show off who you are now, the accomplishment of having a baby, of not having a baby, the exercise and healthy work you've done, the work you haven't done, for you.
I am beyond excited to share these photos. Boudoir is easily becoming my favorite thing to shoot. Jess is amazing, and totally sells those Calvin Kleins.
