This family of three became four with the introduction of miss Shirley. Luke was feeling the changes, but as lovable and fun as this family is, he'd find his groove in no time. Maybe he just wanted to show some of his independence. How is it that as soon as a second baby arrives, the first one just seems so grown up?

We spent the morning reading stories, listening to music, making quesadillas, taking walks, and eyeing the new baby girl. Cheers to mom for taking a little hike through the backyard woods two weeks postpartum, holding her newborn baby girl. (And to the power of genes.. Shirley sneezes when she sees the sun.. just like her brother, Luke, does. It's the cutest.)

Kevin and Heather found out they will be expecting a little baby in early December. They wanted some family photos to soak in their family-of-three and one for their pregnancy announcement. We headed over to Kinder Farm in Severna Park for some quick photos. Chase was in SUCH a goofy mood. He must have his mother's genes and felt "at-home" with the animals on the farm.

This one cracks me up. Like, hey guys, halp.

How often does your family get together? If you and your family are traveling to the Deep Creek Lake areas (Oakland, McHenry, Swanton, Deer Park), I'm booking photo sessions for the 2016 summer months. The kids are out of school. Everyone is happy. Why not get those family photos you've been brushing off at the beach or swimming under those fresh waterfalls? Do it.

The westernmost part of Maryland boasts a quiet community on a man-made lake. I've grown up spending many summer and winter vacations there. Deep Creek Lake and the surrounding areas are such a nice retreat. We've gone camping, swimming under waterfalls, boating all day, hiking up mountains and along rivers, skiing, eating bushels of crabs outdoors with friends and extended family, and taking drives in search of mountaintop views or a sky full of stars. The Deer Park Water company actually began bottling their fresh water from the nearby springs years ago.

This family came from all parts of the country for one big family vacation at the lake. Three generations and their pets. Is there a better way to wrap up your time together than with a photo session? As it goes, there are some honest moments trying to wrangle up all of the kids. ;)
